Work With Me
Why Mindfulness in the Workplace?
According to Gloria Marks, a professor of Informatics at the University of California, office workers are interrupted or self-interrupt every three minutes, visit their Facebook an average of 21 times a day and check their email 74 times.
These distractions contribute to corporate losses of over $550 billion a year, attributed to high employee unhappiness and disengagement rates.
A cultivated mindfulness can shift all of this.
A mindfulness practice teaches us to bring our attention back to the present moment, staying clear and focused. This is the antidote to the wandering mind.
Mindfulness also affects interpersonal behavior and workgroup relationships through the learning of greater empathy and compassion.
Mindfulness is of huge benefit to organizations that rely on effective leadership and teamwork.
Moreso, when you invest in your employees and executive team by bringing mindfulness training into the office, it allows them to be heard and gives them a greater sense of purpose within the organization.
Is Mindfulness Consulting and Training Right for Your Organization?
Do any employees within your organization match these descriptions?
- Disengaged. Shuffling papers at their desk all day with teammates left wondering what meaningful work they are actually contributing.
- Frustrated. They lash out at other co-workers and they don’t appear to enjoy their work or show a reasonable level of dedication.
- Clock-Watcher. Exorbitant use of sick leave. Often late. Leaves early. Can be found making a bee-line to the door at the end of the day. (In fact, that is often the most energized you’ve seen them all day.)
You could…
- Shuffle employees around onto different teams (and hope that will fix it)
- Fire and rehire (costing you time and money) …. And, yet, likely to find out the problem resurfaces because the root problem has not been assessed.
OR…. you could shift the company culture
Imagine….
- Employees that are engaged, happy and fulfilled
- Teamwork, collaboration, and comradery amongst the staff
- Clients who are well-served by caring employees
- Reduced turnover and HR crises
- Increased productivity and profitability
Organizations with happy and engaged employees experience higher stock earnings as well as higher profitability (22%), productivity (21%), customer engagement (10%), and lower turnover (40%), absenteeism (37%), shrinkage/theft (28%), and fewer staff safety incidents (48%).
An investment in mindfulness training has a proven ROI.
Customized Corporate Mindfulness Workshops
I create custom programs to fill the gaps and shift the culture within your organization.
A sample program could include:
-
- Private consultation with your executive team to discover gaps and discuss desired outcomes. Will also receive coaching and guidance on how to more effectively manage teams and shift culture.
- Employee discovery session where a space is created for them to be honest, vulnerable, and heard. Through intentional facilitation, find out what a workplace that they love coming into everyday would look like. (This is important information for the executive team and provides valuable insights into shifting the company culture.)
- Introduce concepts of mindfulness to employees through lecture & experiential group activities.
- Benefits of meditation. Guided and done with them
- What it’s like to be in the now. Group exercise
- How to meet people on their level. Enhance empathy and emotional IQ through mindfulness.
- Mindful Communication. Powerful and effective expression.
- Role Play & real-life scenarios (giving them tools to handle difficult situations with more effectiveness, and less stress and anxiety).
- Bring Executive Team & Employees together to coach on more effective communications and mediate any concerns or issues brought up in the first session.
Most workshops start before I come on site with the executive discovery session, which allows for a custom tailored program to be developed, in order to meet your organizational needs.
Afterwards, the executive team and staff are both given suggested “homework” assignments which will help to continue building the mindfulness muscles and better equip the organization to handle stressful situations and shift the culture.
30 days later, a follow up meeting is facilitated over Zoom video conferencing to assess progress and to offer coaching and consulting on any additional small tweaks and adjustments to be made.
Post workshop, you can expect to see improvements in innovative thinking and communication skills and more appropriate reactions to stress. This combined with a staff that feels heard and cared for increases overall happiness and engagement from employees, reduced turnover and sick-leave, increased client satisfaction, productivity and profitability.

The Corporate World is Ready For Mindfulness. Are You?
Increased Productivity + Profitability via Employee Happiness & Engagement
Did you know: A staggering 70% of employees are disengaged with their job. (According to Gallup research)
Not only are they not actively driving the company forward, the research shows that this disengagement actually costs employers $550 billion a year in lost production, turnover, absenteeism, and customer dissatisfaction.
Statistically speaking, that means 2 out of 3 of your employees could be costing you money on your bottom line … instead of adding to it.
Companies like Apple, Google, Target, Intel, and General Mills know a little secret.
They have all embraced mindfulness training for their employees in order to increase engagement and happiness … as well as to boost creativity, mental clarity, and focus.
